Why Attend?
As the world’s need for energy continues to increase, it is important that geoscientists involved in exploration acquire the skills to equip themselves for the increasingly difficult search for both conventional and unconventional sources of energy. Our varied course program seeks to address this challenge and will be taught by distinguished lecturers from around the world. More than 25 short courses and field trips are planned.
Highlights
T. Boone Pickens, a geologist from Oklahoma State University who continues to be a leading voice in calling for development of effective and affordable energy policies that include alternate energy sources, will be the special speaker for this year’s All-Convention Luncheon.
Pickens, a legendary businessman, philanthropist and, for the past year, a prominent national media presence on energy matters, will talk about the future of energy. His speech will include a few prepared remarks and he’ll attempt to answer the questions on everyone’s minds.

Others love the process of developing a proven field and maximizing its potential. Most are inspired by the thrill that comes from applying their craft to benefit themselves, their companies and society.
